One of the innovative methods used by the International Pain Institute with Dr. Castellanos, and that takes a decade of success and is a Reference and Research Center for National and International, is called Spinal Endoscopy. 

This method is performed in cases of pain that does not respond to traditional techniques and in the other case may substitute surgery or in those cases that surgery has failed to control the pain.

Spinal Endoscopy consist in the placement of small scope inside the spine and the doctor visualize and identify directly the problem and was able to corrected immediately without the need of open the spine.

This advance procedure is done the same day and under conscious sedation, in other words the patient is able to speak with the doctor during the procedure without feeling pain. After a short recovery, is able to return to work and regular activities. 

Dr Castellanos is pioneering this particular procedure since 2006 and currently is adding new features to make it more effective, for example the release of spinal adhesions and fibrosis due to prior surgery with a special CO2 laser.
